Meet Gardenia, a sweet 3-year-old Papillon mix with a gentle spirit and the softest heart. While she may be shy and nervous in the shelter setting, her true personality blossoms once she feels safe and loved.
Gardenia recently spent a long weekend with one of our volunteers. At first, she needed a full 24-hours to come out of her shell, but once she did, she was absolutely delightful—spunky, affectionate, and eager to snuggle. She adores one-on-one attention and will happily curl up by your side for some quiet companionship.
She gets along nicely with other small dogs, though she’s a bit intimidated by larger ones. Gardenia would thrive in a calm, lower-energy home where patience and love will help her confidence grow. She’s still learning leash skills and recall, but she’s eager to learn and bonds deeply once she trusts you.
